Riga Russian Theatre of Mikhail Chekhov (“Mihaila Čehova Rīgas Кrievu Тeātris” in Latvian), also known as “Riga Russian Drama Theatre” until 2006 is the main Russian theatre in Riga, also acting as one of main hubs of Russian culture in Latvia. It is also the oldest Russian drama theatre located outside of Russian country. The theatre was built in 1883 and over the course of its 120 year history it’s been seeing a stable development and credibility in the whole Baltic and Russian-speaking areas.

Recently renovated, looking beautiful both inside and outside, the “Russian Theatre of Mikhail Chekhov” is staging daily performances based on world-famous Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Ostrovsky or Milne plays. Opened almost daily, with ticket prices around 5-25 EUR and with student/senior discounts of around 30%, attending it s a definite must to for all fans of Russian culture while staying in Riga.
